I set out to experiment with color this past summer. I would pick three colors randomly, two to combine together and one as an accident. I learned so much about color mixing as well as what colors look good together. I would sometimes pick similar colors and question whether or not they would look good, but would use them anyway, and they would surprise me every time. I loved doing this, and even better, I walked around with paint on my fingers (which I call my favorite paintbrushes) all summer long.
